Yesterday I started going through some old sketches I keep crammed into a crumpled folder on my bookshelf. I'm planning to tape all the loose papers into a sketchbook so they don't get damaged. There was a TON of old concept sketches for Wandering Tales in there. Lately when I start working on the project I get bogged down with the technical process of story building and communication, and I totally forget about the actual story creation part. These sketches were a good reminder that, behind the theory and abstract techniques Wandering Tales is built on, there are living, breathing characters that WANT to tell a story. For some reason this inspired me to take another look at Charlie and Scudd, and maybe take some time to listen to what they have to say.
