Well there's my last assignment of the semester! The prompt was to create a triptych (a series of three related images meant to be viewed in a specific order) of any subject of my choosing. The only restraint was that each drawing should illicit a different emotional tone. I would have liked to communicate the emotion a little more drastically through the coloring, but by the time I could actually sit down and color this was pretty pressed for time.
I still have a giant 6 foot canvas with a weird elephant monster painted on it chilling in the painting room I need to upload, but this triptych was the last assignment to turn in/ procrastinate on until the night it was due and binge color all night. It's mostly flat colored because flat colored is faster and I wanna work on what I wanna work on! Which at this moment is nothing. Maybe some Psychonauts and laundry when I get home.
Later this week I will be writing in a more serious update for the blog. I still have to re-submit my abstract for my thesis after I fix the typos, but after that "Wandering Tales" will simply be referred to as "Wandering Tales", not "Wandering Tales my senior thesis project". I'm going to be making major changes to the site to make way for lots of new content!
I've been thinking a lot about what the function of this site is (besides a weekly blog update about whatever is currently stressing me out), and what I've come up with is basically what'll be a game developer's site.
Over the next few weeks I might not be making a ton of blog updates, but I plan to make some pretty drastic changes to the navigation bar up at the top and the content that exists within the more stationary parts of the site. I'm not sure what that means yet, but I guess we'll find out together.
